The 3-step Rule

I am lucky to be surrounded by people who've offered me opportunities to work on various exciting projects.
There was a time when I was doing one of the following two things : Analyzing an opportunity for far too long/ or jumping in without any analysis.

For a couple of weeks now, I have been following these three steps and I have been really happy about the choices I have made.

1. Does the project/end goal/team add value to my life?
2. Does the project make me happy?
3. Do I have time for it?

Once the answer to all this is 'Yes' I jump right in.

What do you do to make decisions?

hey, thanks for this but what kind of projects are these? I'm convinced about the 1st two, but not sure about the 3rd one? It sounds more transactional unless by saying 'one has time for it' you actually mean that one's time would have an alternative use! but highly engaged I am today, reading your blog !
