Right Now

Sometimes you want to open your heart and wail like a child. Other times you wonder at your place in the universe.

Reminder : we all have our dirty dark secrets that we want to hide. We all want to be wanted, loved, attached. It's the acceptance that kills us. Sometimes we think our insecurity is bigger than us. But it's our lack of acceptance that murders our soul.

Humans have versions---revisited...

I wrote this post during a time when I was dealing with people and their changing versions. When I shared this post with my friend Varsha, this was her response :

The thing is, people see you in a certain way and hence they like/dislike you. Either way, they're in their comfort zone. The moment you take a step out of that zone, they get uncomfortable. People will change. I agree with you on that. The shock is not about the change. The shock is about the change not suiting people around us.

Personally, if you ask anyone who has known me for more than a couple of years, they'll say the same thing... "OmG! U've not changed a bit! U jus look different!"
But if you ask me... I know how much I've changed, how much I've evolved as a person.
I've changed... but people don't really know tht... for them, I haven't (yet) stepped out of their comfort zone!

I agree with you on the change aspect.

"She still the same ya. Same dressing sense, same talking style." I don't ever want to be that person.
This, I don't really agree with.
It doesn't matter whether a person is the same in all these respects... as long as on a personal and emotional level, the person has evolved. (Maybe even on a spiritual level.)

Eat these words

The Internet makes me very happy. Some days it just throw stuff at me. Stuff that makes me smile.

So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

For June, from Joseph

"For June who loved this garden from Joseph who always sat beside her." Some people do spend their whole lives together"  ~ Anna Scott in Notting Hill

Some dialogues should be framed. This is one of them. Richard Curtis, take a bow.

Gareth Kay on being interesting

This post by Gareth Kay got me thinking about interestingness and curiosity.
Some of my favourite lines from the post are reproduced here :

Bill Bernbach said this back in the the 1950s:
“The truth isn’t the truth until people believe you, and they can’t believe you if they don’t know what you’re saying, and they can’t know what you’re saying if they don’t listen to you, and they won’t listen to you if you’re not interesting, and you won’t be interesting unless you say things imaginatively, originally, freshly.”

Smile through summer colors

Yeh tumhari meri baatein
hamesha yuhi chalti rahein
(I hope, these conversations that we have last forever)

...and I hope we waltz to fancy winds
play splash when there is rain outside
clutch each other in winter
and smile through the summer colors
