Yellow Shoes

Kids wear the cutest things on earth! My cousin brother Ayman in yellow shoes that kept me gushing all throughout the evening!

Stupid: 1BHK

There is this interior decoration store at Kamala Mills, Lower Parel . Because I frequent the area almost everyday, I have a fair idea of the number of customers that visit this store. The basic problem with this store is location and pricing. Even though its in a upmarket area(close to Phoenix Mills- where it would have worked just fine), its in a compound where there are more office-goers than idle window shoppers. For this reason there are no fresh footfalls. Its the same customer day after day. This store, for lack of customers has started a marketing campaign of sorts in the same area. These are some of the reasons why any amount of marketing will fail : 1. Most customers from Lower Parel have ample stores in Phoenix Mills to goto. A lone store in an office compound is hardly the way to start shopping. In my 9-5 job, I have very little time for an interior decor store that sells candles for 400 a piece. 2. Interior decoration items are bought when a lot of time is at hand or if something specific is being sought. 3. Customers from other suburbs have better options in the Churchgate area. 4. The store seriously misses out on the crowd pulling ability of Phoenix Mills. Its located far away from Phoenix and a serious shopper will skip this store because of the distance. No other reason. My suggestion would be to put the store up on rent, or start a restaurant. There is enough hungry office-going  crowd in that area that wouldn't mind paying for good food at affordable rates. Plus the only choice that we have is Jai Hind(a fish specialty restaurant ) and Sri Krishna(an Udupi restaurant). For variety, most of us have to goto Phoenix Mills or Peninsula Corporate Park, which is not feasible keeping the time factor in mind.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

By no means are you going to avoid this movie. Not only have Abbas Tyrewala and Aamir Khan remade a typical love story into something real and believable, they have added a bit of fantasy and masala in it, without overdoing it at all.Aditi (Genelia) and Jai(Imran Khan) are friends for the past five years. Their friendship shows no sign of heading into the Love direction. Thats when they decide to find someone for each other ..and boom! love happens..Abbas and Aamir have repackaged an age old story in a normal, non-overdone format. They have added elements like, college gangs...one friend being the cry baby..crushes...happening and cool parents(There is this scene where Jai admits to having a girlfriend..and Savitri (Ratna Pathak Shah in a near perfect role!) reacts by congratulating her son ....How many moms do that in this day and age! ). Then there is the aimless but intelligent son(Prateik Babbar), ex girlfriends not getting over their guys..everything that a young crowd needs! The cast of the remaining group have played their role very well and I hope to see Prateik Babbar (in a small but meaningful role as Aditi's brother) in many more movies in the future as well.Songs like 'Pappu cant Dance' and 'Kabhi Kabhi ' have reinstated what we already know...that A R Rahman, like wine, gets better with age.Go right now and book your tickets...you wouldn't want to miss this one!
