I thought that atleast the queues and paperwork that plague us Indians in the battered and badly invested-in offices of the bureaucracy would be absent in NYC. (We have a rather efficient embassy and Indian consulate in Oman!Touch wood!). But guess what?We don't mind spending millions of dollars in lobbying fees for a position in the Security Council, but don't have the right mind to invest in a simple marketing strategy that would help us develop our "First Impression" on the world.
