When Amitabh Bachchan Dies!!!

The death of actor Rajkumar has been a trigger of violence. Its sad to see how crazed fans are overcome by hysteria and violence and are bringing down an entire city on its knees.
While I was watching the news last night I was wondering what will happen if actors and idols of hoi polloi, Mr Amitabh Bachchan and MrRajnikant died? I can only imagine worse forms of havoc and anarchy.

***********

Salman Khan is out on bail. I dont find it surprising, becasue I sort of expected that to happen. Celebrities and politicians hardly see the insides of the jail in their lifetime. I agreed with the arrest, becasue I believe that the law is equal for everyone, whether it be a celebrity or the common man. However, the number of hit and run cases registered in Mumbai are enormous. Same is with poaching. How is it that the law doesnt pursue those cases with similar fervour?. I feel that by targeting celebrities, who are swimming in truckloads of moolah(incidentally its the same moolah that gets them out!), the police ( who already has a pretty battered image in India) are trying to prove that we can put the big guns in jail. Pretty much like the Tarannum bar dancer case where the polics thought they had hit jackpot where they felt they had bookies and film stars and cricketers in their net. So instead of pursuing for more evidence and leads, the police calls a press conference to tell about their achievements. Result? Tarannumwas out on bail and the case was never pursued after that . Funny? Someone can goto jail for having telephone numbers of bookies and policemen in your telephone diary!!!
This strive for "greatness" and "cleaning up" the police force, and "restoring faith" might work in larger interests, however it wont work if the police use the media as the tool, to catch the big fish. That is not to say that Salman is a great guy, and that his acts of crime are justified. Its just that larger issue often goes unnoticed , by a media that thrives on sensationalism and the ingredients of the dal and the roti Salman was served in jail or the expression on Katrina's face when she went to Jodhpur!!

We can't quite decide if the world is growing worse, or if the reporters are just working harder. ~The Houghton Line, November 1965

well two things... rajkumar is seriously a huge star.. else explain the riots nad rajnikant being there for the last ceremonies... he s a mega star in kannada regional land.. these are places where hindi aint all that popular... though.. the obsession of movie stars.. in south india s much much more.. trace it back to movie politicos.. mgr, naidu, jayalalitha, the works.. sallu dear s not such a sad state.. he runs in the show bizz.. he s gotta keep his name in the papers.. after all there s no bad and good publicity.. its publicity in the end.. however.. the court s gonna tie the noose harder.. too many cases of the court bein made a joke out of.. starts with jesicca lal.. ends with salman.. the judiciary s the only uncorrupt at least in the top hierarchy wing of the indian fraternity..

this is kartik rao ere.. ur mate from XII A..

i agree with the rajkumar thingie..i mean when i stared following the headlines i dint know who the heaven (with due respect to the departed) was he!!!
now i know what with all the temples constucted for the south stars---its the case of god leaving for his heavenly abode and the masses not letting him go...lucky him..

guess it is the rice that does it.... all super talented actors of the south after a stint of good performances connect to the aurdience at higher level, somehow...its not hero worship exactly but a certain expectation that stem out of the stories that unflod on the screen and more than usually it runs on the lines of a 'maryada purushottam' something that every guy finally would want to be acknowledged as in the society..the southern society at least....n its seen in all four states included though kerala draws its limits after a while..at least there are no temples or official fan associations there..talking bout clubs..i dunno bout the other states but in andhra pradesh i had read an article long time back that a star asked the movie makers to change the dialogues because the fan club didn't wuite like it...meanin he actually went and showed the stuff that he s to speak to get his fans approval...... anyway coming back to the topic...

the mayhem that we all witnessed, in my personla opinion it was the presence of mediamen there... i have often seen when these news people cover potential violent marchings and outcries the mobsters it seems is injected with further dose of excitement and ideas of grabbin attention, maybe that could hav been one of the reasons for the proportions things reached (one cop killed...and ironically they were out coz another man had died)..

in a way its things like these that make living in thsi world so very interesting and exciting as long as u r not caught in it urself...

nice nice stuff...
